“I’m in love with cities I’ve never been to and people I’ve never met.”
The famous quotation by John Green has an inflated influence on me since my childhood.
This year I was planning a non hectic trip and thus thought about Pondicherry, also known as Puducherry.
It’s a beautiful French promenade city full of traditional architecture.
Located on the eastern seaboard of India, the city is adorned with palm-fringed beaches, backwaters, fishing villages and many serene home stays.
I chose to spend in tranquility and right choice to make the most of it is Anantha Heritage Resort.
Sri Aurobindo Ashram was 10 minutes away from the Resort so I tried to attend the meditation session on the very first day.
After a serious rejuvenation it was time for a windy walk by the sea at the Rock beach area. Ohh! the stimulating breeze…I felt the ‘spiritual refreshment’ instantly.
The Pondecherry tourism department uses the punch line “ Give time a break” for their advertisement campaign. Indeed that is one of the attractive features of the city.
So once you are there, relax completely and switch off your phones and worries too.
You can also rent two wheelers there and take a ride across the colonial French city. The beaches such as Serenity beach, Chunnambar beach, promenade beach are the perfect place to laze around and view the sunset.
I discovered peace, calmness and poise within myself after returning back from Pondecherry . I love to pause my thoughts while travelling to serene places.
Pausing to feel the collective experience..
Pausing to revere nature..
Pausing to honor mankind and their inventions..
